SIRP 1st Annual Irrigation Scheduling Workshop



Designed for Southeastern Crop Consultants and Irrigation Managers, SIRP will provide a two-day workshop on January 13-14, 2009, at the Park in Camilla, Ga. Participants will cover all aspects of irrigation scheduling for row crops and vegetables. Participants will see and use a variety of commercial sensors, scheduling software, and web-based communications. Sensor installation techniques, so critical to successful operation, will be demonstrated. The workshop emphasis will be how to make these tools work to improve your business.

  • Explanation of pros and cons of many commercially available sensors
  • Software that can be used with sensors, with weather, or both.
  • Monitors that you carry to the field; sensors that you leave and read in the field;
  • Automated recording of field sensor readings vs remote automated observations.
  • Web-based services for customer and data management
  • Field installation techniques
