How are findings of the SIRP made available?
The Stripling Irrigation Research Park staff and scientist make their findings available through many means. County and Statewide Extension meetings are scheduled annually and more often to review crop production, including irrigation management and scheduling findings of the Park. Field tours and field days allow direct observation of current work, and scientists use the opportunities to share what they've learned at SIRP. Research is published in various journals by the scientists, and these are part of the education and extension sources of reference materials. Finally, some of the findings will be distributed on these SIRP web pages.

What institutions are involved in research and education at SIRP?
The C. M. Stripling Irrigation Research Park is a research center of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES). The land is property of the Mitchell County Development Authority. Most of the base support for the facility is from funds provided by the Georgia General Assembly as part of its support of research and extension of UGA's CAES. Scientists, engineers and others from non-UGA groups, including USDA and other Georgia Institutions are invited to participate in ongoing research or bring research and education programs that require control irrigation facilities.
Can agribusinesses use facilities or participate in SIRP programs?
SIRP was designed to include participation for the irrigation industry and agribusiness. Each of the major U.S. center pivot manufacturers are represented there with equipment. Several companies have provided equipment for evaluation or demonstration. Irrigation companies have used the facility for regional training of their sales and service employees and have participated in field days. All are invited to use the high profile center to reach the area's farming community which is the center of 2.5 million acres in the SE Coastal Plain in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama.
