One Zimmatic 2-Tower Center Pivot

Control Panels: Manufacturers state-of-the-art (communication and control capable).

SIRP Control and Monitoring: 6" gate valve, 6" Bermad solenoid valve, Micrometer flowmeter, Omega pressure sensor. Each is also equipped with a combination check valve, chemigation port, and a vacuum breaker.

Dimensions: 256 ft. pivot radius
Area: 5 acres
Soil Type: Lucy Loamy Sand
Sprinkler Packages:
2001 to 2004: A treatment variable two packages per pivot in the Application Water Loss Study - Senninger designed sprinklers, nozzles, and packages including pressure regulation for each nozzle. End guns, also a treatment variable, were installed on each pivot.

2004 to 2006: Two packages per pivot, i.e. a standard irrigation package and packages for the Sprinkler Over-Pressurization Study.

For most applications, this pivot is equipped with a Senninger-designed package using Senninger Low Drift Nozzles (LDNŽ) on drops. Pressure regulators (10 psi) are located just above each sprinkler at the end of the drop tube. Drop tubes are spaced at 7.5 feet apart along the boom. They position sprinkler heads at 6 ft above the average soil elevation.

To enable switching between standard LDNŽ irrigation nozzles and Impact sprinklers, 24 VDC solenoid valves are positioned on the boom at the base of each gooseneck or sprinkler. Originally, a manual SPST switch suspended from the boom activates 24VDC solid state relays to turn on all valves for one package at a time. In 2006, the sprinkler package selection function was included in the AIC pivot controls.
