Peanut Irrigation Study, 2002, Georgia Coastal Plain

Yield Comparisons:

Study:

Research Objectives:

    1. Develop irrigation management systems for consistent high yield and quality peanuts for loamy sand soils.
    2. Establish soil water requirements needed for consistent pod development.
    3. Validate peanut irrigation models (especially with respect to restricted irrigation) and evalutate envirocaster and simple Pan scheduling equipment.
Treatments:
1.Easy Pan (Evaporation Pan) - LDN Nozzles
 2.Irrigator Pro - LEPA Nozzles
 3.Irrigator Pro - LDN Nozzles
 4.Growth Stage - LEPA Nozzles
 5.Growth Stage - LDN Nozzles
6.Watermark at 28 cm or deeper depths avg greater than 40 kpa - LDN Nozzles
7.Watermark at 28 cm or deeper depths avg greater than 40 kpa - LEPA Nozzles
8.Two inches per week less rainfall - LDN Nozzles
 9.Dry Land

Basic Crop Management: PLANTED - 02 May 2002; HARVEST - 12 Sep 2002 ; TILLAGE - Moldboard Plow (30 cm deep plus smoothing and bed shaping), wheel traffic controlled at 1.2 m centers; FERTILIZATION - Typical Extension Recommended Rate; WEED & PEST CONTROL: Typical Extension Recommendations.
