Winter versus Summer Rainfall Compared by Decade

82 Stations of Coosa North Georgia WPR

ChartObject Changing Rainfall Patterns

The summaries were created from daily rainfall data. First, each day's observed rainfall amount from all stations were averaged for the WPR. Then, the average rainfall was summed over all days in the 6-month season. "Winter" refers to the first half of the hydrologic or "Water" year. (Water Year 1996, like Fiscal Year 1996, begins October 1995 and continues to September 1996, for example.) "Summer" refers to the second half of the water year, i.e. April through September.
