The Geospatial Technologies Lab (GTL) is located at the National Environmentally Sound Production Agriculture Laboratory (NESPAL) on The University of Georgia Tifton Campus. The mission of the GTL is to support multi-disciplinary teams of research scientists and community development faculty from the University of Georgia and the USDA-ARS Southeast Watershed Research Laboratory. Interest areas include water resources research, planning, management and policy support. Current projects focus on agricultural water resource issues in the Upper Suwannee Basin (south Georgia) and potential impacts of urban/suburban development on coastal Georgia resources. The lab is intended to evolve into a service facility enhancing regional and local resource databases for planning and management; promoting use of contemporary technologies for community and regional decision making; supporting applied research in decision support technologies; and providing opportunities for teaching and training.
