Research Objective:
2. Compare model predictions of soil water with measured soil water. 3. Measure changes in water content by depth during a 7 to 10 day drydown period and to measure root distribution at the end of the drydown. 4. Measure in-situ hydraulic conductivity with the Guelph permeameter, and ponded infiltration with the saturated and unsaturated filtrometer. Basic Crop Management: PLANTED - 07 Ma 1987 (placed 5 cm deep); HARVEST - 28 Sep 1987; TILLAGE - Moldboard Plow (25 cm deep plus smoothing and bed shaping), wheel traffic controlled at 1.2 m centers; FERTILIZATION - Typical Extension Recommended Rate; WEED & PEST CONTROL: Typical Extension Recommendations. |
