Research Objectives:

    1. Determine differences in irrigation requirements of group 6 and group 8 soybeans as represented by the Coker 136 and Cobb extremes.
    2. Compare two minimum irrigation techniques with full season irrigation.
    3. Determine the water extraction patterns of the soybeans as influenced by irrigation method.

Basic Crop Management: PLANTED - 16 Jun 1982 (rows 0.9m apart); HARVEST - 15 Oct 1982 (Coker), 17 Nov 1982 (Cobb), (2-row grain combine); TILLAGE - Moldboard Plow (30 cm deep plus smoothing and bed shaping), wheel traffic controlled at 1.2 m centers; FERTILIZATION - Typical Extension Recommended Rate; WEED & PEST CONTROL: Typical Extension Recommendations.
