GA Water
Leadership Summit XIV Meeting Georgia's Water Demands in the 21st Century
Held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Albany Technical College - Kirkland Conference Center, Albany, Georgia.
Thank you for joining your neighbors and others interested in Georgia's water resources. The Fourteenth Water Summit for Southwest Georgia was a great success. Speakers discussed the recently adopted State Water Plan, explained critical stream habitat. Several helped us understand the current drought, low stream flow, and groundwater and put a put those into the perspective of El Nino/La Nina cycles and global warming. Ross Harding helped us understand Georgia's role in the emerging biofuels market and its water use.
Here's the complete program:
- Dr. Carol Couch, Director, Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Atlanta
- Sandy Tucker, US Fish & Wildlife Service, Athens
- Ross Harding, VP for Business Development, Herty Advanced Materials Development Center, Savannah
- David F. Zierden, Florida State Climatologist, Center for Ocean Atmospheric Prediction Studies, The Florida State University, Tallahassee
